The Market was dominated by more subtle textiles this season, many giving the appearance of a single color, but up close, revealing a rainbow of color. Think tiny tweeds and herringbones that look solid from afar, and ‘tone on tone’ fabrics that bring more interest to the piece. Texture is also important this year, and can be mixed to create interesting effects. Popular textured fabrics include boucle, chenille, felt and velvets. We saw interesting graphic patterns and shapes in wood furniture design, including geometric cutouts and asymmetrical designs.
