Sugar and spice and everything nice … that’s what Pantone’s Extracts palette is made of. The fifth in our series of home color collections for 2013, Pantone makes the often-intimidating job of color selection simple and fun. Just look for the palette that resonates with you.
Extracts takes its cue from the spice cabinet, with tasty colors in luscious and light shades. The effect is comforting yet a little surprising, with pops of color that might not be expected in a home. The six-color collection sounds like a dessert bar, with Spiced Coral, Brandied Melon, Apple Cinnamon, Dusty Pink, Baked Clay and Green Banana.
If Extracts speaks to you, consider a family room makeover.
Start with our Spectrum sofa. At 83″ long, it’s a good choice for any size room. And the classic lines and rolled arms will fit any style home, from traditional to casual. Choose from clay or beige microsuede twill fabric. Throw pillows in a neutral yet colorful pattern add a layer of interest.
Next, add a pop of color with our contemporary Attica Swivel Chair. In terra cotta fabric, it is grounded by its exposed wood frame. With a tight back and rolled arms, the small-scale chair works well with the Spectrum sofa. Use alone or grab a pair and create a conversation area.
Another option is our Mellow Chair in apple green. Its sleek design is contemporary and it, too, coordinates well with our Spectrum sofa. In 100% genuine leather, the piece also comes in black, red, cream and walnut brown.
Tie the colors of the sofa and chair together with our Carolina Wild Collection rug with paisley design. Featuring many of the colors from the Extract collection, the quality piece is woven with a 35mm pile height for dimension. The edges are finished with a fray proof surge to prolong the life of each rug.
Next, add our Rectangular Cocktail Table from the Hudson Collection. In burnished bronze metal, the light-looking piece is topped with glass, allowing the beauty of the rug to shine through. The circular design in the center of the base complements the paisley rug. Matching end tables are also available.
Finally, light up the room with our gourd lamp. In an oregano green, its shapely silhouette blends with different styles of decor, from modern to traditional and everything in between. Use a single lamp on an end table, or a pair on a sofa table.
