Choosing a color palette for your room can be intimidating. You don’t want to be boring, but you don’t want to look like a box of Crayola crayons, either. So how do you assemble the perfect palette?
To help you take the leap from basic beige, the folks from Pantone, a design company considered the global authority on color, created nine no-fail color palettes for 2014. Each has an array of colors that work well together, whether you combine two, four or all of them. You just have to find the one that resonates with you.
We’ll highlight each palette separately, and first up is the palette called TechnoColor. This palette “acknowledges the advancement of technology – how it is impacting the world of design and expanding the color universe through a melding of both vibrant and deep hues, frequently executed in reflective surfaces.”
The collection includes Silver, Emerald (which was chosen as Pantone’s 2014 color of the year), Methyl Blue, Tillandsia Purple, Majolica Blue, Dark Citron, Exuberance and Jet Black.
We think these colors would make a striking family room. Take a look at these pieces from Art Van Furniture that will bring TechnoColor to life in your home:
Start with the Trio Sofa and Loveseat in grey. Sleek and tailored, they bring a contemporary feel to the room. In 100% genuine leather, the pieces set a sophisticated and stylish foundation to a TechnoColor room.
Now it’s time for the drama. The Lorenzo Accent Chair and its matching ottoman are made of 100% teal blended leather. The piece has a faux crocodile finish for another layer of interest. And the chrome nail-head trim, gives a touch of sparkle to what is becoming a vibrant room.
Surprise your family and friends with a purple shag rug. From the Kempton Collection, it conveys the feeling of hip nostalgia in your home while providing an unexpected pop of color underfoot.
Ground the bright colors in this room with the Troy Collection Oval Cocktail Table. The dark black finish features a smoky glass top, which fits with the modern tech-savvy vibe of the room.
Place the vintage-inspired Marlow Collection End Table next to the Lorenzo Accent Chair for a bit of bling. The bold piece commands attention and will complement the chrome nail-head trim of the chair.
Top the Marlow Table with this Emerald Glossy Sculpture. The modern piece will look at home in our fashion-forward room and adds another color from this fun palette.
Finally, add some warmth to this tech-inspired room with our Celebrity Wall-Mounted Fireplace. Featuring a stainless steel surround, the simple design makes a stunning statement in your space.
