A Master Suite That’s Sculpted Simplicity

Choosing a color palette for your home shouldn’t be like that candy bar you toss in your cart at the grocery store – an impulse purchase you later regret. Instead, take your time and gather a well-thought-out collection of colors that will grow with you and your family. If you need some help, the folks at Pantone – the global color experts – have put together their 2014 home color collection, with nine palettes from which to choose.

Today, we’re featuring their sophisticated Sculpted Simplicity palette. An elegant addition to any room of your home, the colors include Blanc de Blanc, Anthracite, Grisaille, Iron, Twilight, Mauve, Travertine, Etherea, Silver. Pantone describes this unassuming collection as “tones that elegantly harmonize with distinctively nuanced undertones.”

Pantone Sculpted Simplicity

Do you love the Sculpted Simplicity palette? We do. Here’s a master bedroom suite we fashioned from this color collection.

Start with our Sachi Dolphin Winged Upholstered Headboard in rich taupe. The piece gets a touch of sparkle with its shiny chrome nail-head trim. The platform bed has a footboard and matching side rails, which ground the bed and create a look of sophistication. Stocked in queen and king size, it can also be special ordered in 54 different fabric options.

Next, dress the bed with our Twilight Bedding Ensemble. In a rich palette of purple, the classic vine pattern is a timeless design. The set will be a welcome retreat from the chill of a winter night with its comforter, bed skirt, shams, square accent pillow, oblong pillow and neckroll.

Consider adding a rug to the room to incorporate another color from this gorgeous palette. We love the Luna de Luna Gray Rug from HGTV’s Grandeur Collection Rug. The rug isn’t just beautiful; it’s green. Containing recycled content, it’s also treated with stain resister for easy removal of liquid stains.

sculpted simplicity nightstand

You’ll need a place to set your water glass. Instead of a traditional nightstand, consider the Potpourri Hexagon Night Table, which works well with the sophisticated feel of this master suite. Its glass top and chrome form will reflect your bedside lamp and provides a contemporary accent to your room.

Bring the dark gray color of this palette into your room with our Penelope Table Lamp. Its silver shade is trimmed in black and the glossy dark base provides a dramatic contrast to the light night table.

Finally, add a Lift-top Storage Bench at the foot of the bed to store extra linens and provide a place to remove your shoes. From the Potpourri Collection, it’s also available as a custom order in eight other fabrics. We love the pattern it is stocked in, which includes several of the colors of this palette.

What do you think of our Sculpted Simplicity palette from Pantone? In which room of your home would you use this color collection?
