The Greenwich Village apartment designer and TV host Nate Berkus shares with his husband is filled with an eclectic mix of furnishings, finishes and treasures gathered during travels. In soothing neutrals with touches of Urban bling, Berkus has created a home that reflects his point of view and his personality. The residence was recently featured in Architectural Digest, and we fell in love with the understated master bedroom, with crisp linens that contrast the textural mix of wood furnishings and a plush rug.
If you like Nate’s style, we’ve got the look:
Start with our Grande Upholstered Bed in soothing beige. Its winged headboard has modern clean lines that are classic and contemporary. Its upholstered footboard and side rails require no bed skirt, although you can add one to mimic Nate’s style.
Instead of traditional nightstands, Berkus uses gorgeous wooden chests that not only provide a surface; they add storage to the room. In mahogany and cherry, this Vintage Chest has five drawers and beautiful bass accent hardware. The rich wood tone provides warmth in a room filled with light colors.
A sitting area in the room gives Berkus’s family a place to regroup and connect at the end of the day. The straight lines of the Regis Sofa in rich espresso complement the style of the headboard and add to the room’s contemporary vibe.
Softening the feel of the room is a plush rug. Our Chandra Kappa Rug is a blend of textured shags that create a striped effect. Perfect for sitting areas, its one-and-a-half-inch pile begs you to go barefoot.
The finishing touch to Berkus’s room is gorgeous architectural chandelier. Our Alanya Chandelier in bronze metal with exposed bulbs is a good match. The stunning starburst style commands attention and adds an Urban-inspired feel.
