Introducing our new arrival: Art Van Baby! Now you can design your nursery with the same style and value that has made Art Van Furniture a family favorite for more than half a century.
Shopping for a crib is exciting, and there are a few things to know before you bring your new arrival home to his or her room:
Safety is your number-one concern, and it’s ours, too. Look for mattresses that carry the Juvenile Products Manufacturer Association (JPMA) seal, which signals the highest level of established product testing and adherence to standards set by the federal and state governments. Art Van only sells cribs that have this certification.
Test your crib for stability. When assembled, the crib should not wobble. Give it a good shake; if it seems unstable, it could be a sign that it was put together improperly.
Measure to make sure there is a safe distance between slats. To prevent injury to your baby, make sure the distance between the crib slats isn’t larger than 2 3/8 inches, about the size of a can of soda.
Crib mattress heights are adjustable for a good reason. Most cribs allow you to adjust the height of the mattress, which helps keep older babies and toddlers from climbing or falling out of the crib.

Detroit is a city of hard workers. We’re loyal, flexible and we don’t give up. At Art Van Furniture, we wanted to celebrate those qualities we see in our community with a new line of furniture – and we’re proud to announce the launch of the Detroit Sofa Co.
Designed around strength, flexibility and durability, you’ll find a line of sofas that offer a different “ride.” The proportions are bigger, with wide and deep lines. And just like our cars, the furniture is all American made. In fact, for the first time the product and fabrics have all been handcrafted in the USA.
The Choice is Yours
Detroit Sofa Co. includes three different sofa collections in four different sizes, as well as three sectional collections. The sofas are available as sectionals and sectionals are available as sofas.
We put you in the driver’s seat; custom-order your style, body fabric and accent fabric at no extra charge. Choose from 28 body fabrics that feature beautiful woven textures in classic colors such as beige, taupe and grey. Then add personality by adding throw pillows or side chairs that are available in 34 accent fabrics.
We Focused on Quality
Detroit Sofa Co. products are created with premium construction. Hardwood frames makes then strong and stable. Heavy gauge sinuous spring construction offers support and durability. And the cushions are made of polyurethane foam wrapped in gel infused memory foam for superior comfort, support and durability.
The sofas and sectionals are also comfortable, with 10-inch thick cushions and padding on all four sides. That means there aren’t any hard edges so fabric lasts longer. Detroit Sofa Co. is also made of earth-friendly materials, which leaves a positive environmental impact.

It’s hard to believe Art Van Furniture welcomed the Cindy Crawford Home furniture line nearly 10 years ago. During that memorable kickoff event, the supermodel businesswoman (and our friend) greeted and signed autographs for hundreds of our guests, and since then, it’s been a match made in heaven.
Cindy was approached to do a furniture collection after her Malibu home was featured in Elle Decor in the early 2000s. And it’s no wonder; she has impeccable taste and exudes style. Through the years, we’ve been proud to showcase dozens of her living room, dining room, and bedroom collections. In fact, Cindy Crawford Home’s classic designs are among our most popular, and we’ve enjoyed a wonderful partnership over the past decade.
A few years ago, Cindy was asked to describe her style: “Not too trendy,” she told the mlive reporter. “I think my style is more what I’m not, and I think the furniture line really reflects that. There’s an awareness of what is on trend, but I would not go with a trend if I didn’t feel like it would flatter me. And I feel like with the furniture it’s the same thing.”
Cindy likes to encourage homeowners to look at design magazines, catalogs, and Pinterest. “It’s good to see if there’s a theme or commonality to things that resonate with you,” she said in the article. “I like a lot of different styles but it doesn’t work to throw them all together. I think it’s worth it to invest in quality. The throw pillows, make them the fashion statement, or paint because it’s easy to change. But your rug or sofa, you want them to carry through.”
Cindy’s favorite piece from her collection is the Illusions Sectional. “It’s really easy to decorate around,” she said. “I love leather: leather sofas and leather chairs. I think it wears so well and it’s really practical for a family. It looks rich, but if your kid drops your popsicle on it it’s not ruined. One of the things that’s important to me is how comfortable things are. The fabrics have to feel good.”
The Cindy Crawford Home Collection unveils new styles each season. Here are three of our favorites:
Cindy Crawford Home Chatham Collection reads formal or casual, depending on how you accessorize it. The beautiful blue accents provide a sense of drama and put you on trend.
Vibrant colors and gorgeous patterns make the Venus Collection a feast for the eyes. The Suede-So-Soft microfiber fabric and deep tufting also make it a welcome and comfortable retreat.
Straight lines and a streamlined scale provide a classic and tasteful look in the Regis Collection. Neutral colors are easy to live with and timeless, making this an excellent investment.
Country music star Trisha Yearwood is known for her beautiful voice, with hits that transcend decades like How Do I Live and XXXs and OOOs. She’s also the host of Food Network’s “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen,” and she’s a bestselling cookbook author, sharing family favorite recipes, such as her Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
In 2015, Trisha ventured into a new area that beautifully showcases her great taste: The Trisha Yearwood Home Furnishings Collection, available at Art Van Furniture. With a style that could easily be called casual country elegance, the collection includes pieces for the living room, dining room, kitchen, and bedroom. Classic and timeless, each piece has been crafted to provide durable, long-lasting comfort.
Take a peek:
Details. Each piece in the Trisha Yearwood Collection pays attention to detail. Distressed edges, antique finishes and unique hardware provide a special touch. The Counter Height Stools, for example, have a unique low metal backs that double as handles. And the Gwendolyn Accent Chest features a beautiful raised geometric pattern on its three drawers.
Color. Trisha also loves color, and you’ll find a classic royal blue and cream combination on many of the painted and upholstered items, such as the Lynn Accent Chair. And fabric choices are fun and fresh, such as the XO pattern on the St. Cloud Accent Chair.
“Being back on the road reminds me how much we all need a warm and inviting space to return to,” said Yearwood. “My collection is all about comfort and accessibility, giving everyone a place to relax and recharge with family and friends.” In fact, several pieces have been named after Trisha’s favorite places and people, including her husband, country music legend Garth Brooks.
