While in High Point, we couldn’t resist the offer to lie down on the job… on the world’s most expensive mattresses! Hastens of Sweden, founded in 1852, still makes its mattresses by hand using horse hair, cotton and wool. When you lie down on one, it has a noticeable density below you that is very comfortable – but with prices ranging from $18,500 up to $70,000 it’s unlikely most of us will ever know what it’s like to sleep on one! Perhaps we should ask Swedish royalty – King Gustav insisted only on Hästens mattresses!
Art Van Furniture received a special award at the Spring 2010 International Furniture Market at High Point this week: “America’s Youth Retailer of the Year”. The award was given by Legacy Furniture, one of the leaders in the youth category.
“We have a fantastic assortment of furniture and accessories from ‘Crib to College’! Michigan families are discovering great new ways to make their children’s rooms both fun and functional,” said Melinda Lehman, a Buyer with Art Van. “Youth furniture today is high quality, solid wood in great styles that transition as your child grows.” To see what’s in store today, click here.
